Khan’s Hero Engine

Khan’s Hero Engine

I could not help but enjoy… blog time. On
Monday I started to work on my hero engines
for my school work this week, so anyway. Let's
start building my hero engine. I got 3 cans and
started making the hero engine ok let’s go.

I got 3 cans and 2 nails and 1 hammer.  I
hammered 4 small nails into the first can,
the second can I nailed 4 bigger nail into
the can. For the last can, I did the same
with the first can but put the holes up in
the middle of the can here at the cans.

Next, I tied a piece string to the top of each
can and got a big bucket and filled it up with
water. Then I dipped can 1 into the bucket
and it when an around 20 times! I estimated
was 10 my observations: it went slow in the
start then it went fast then slow. Then it was
can 2’s turn I dipped can 2 into the bucket it
went around 14 times I estimated 5 times
my observations: it went slower than last time.

Last up the can 3 I dipped into the bucket
saded it didn’t spin that well it only went
around 5 times I estimated was 6 times my
observations: the waterline was going lower
then the holes.

I enjoyed testing the cans making the cans
thank you for reading my blog I will see you
next week bye.

Tawhirimatea Maori Myth

Tawhirimatea Maori Myth

the year is 2100 the world was clean because the world was using
clean Energy

things are getting worse the world was Relying on the sun for the solar
panels wind for the wind turbines but most of all the world had to rely on
Tawhirimatea to blow the clouds out of the way so they can have sun and to
blow the wind turbines

the problem hits! The wind started to die down there was no wind to push the
clouds out of the way the world was in a blackout

it starts getting better… some people remember Tawhirimatea they called him
to help.day 1 he didn’t come day 2 he didn’t come but on the 3rd day he
came and he blew the clouds out of the way and the wind turbines had the
power to

everything gets fixed up… now people will remember tawhirimatea the god
who the world

Khan's Rocket Straws

Khan’s rocket straws

My dream wouldn’t be complete without...blog time.
On Thursday I started to work on some rocket straws
for some school work so...Day 1
I got some metal straws and a cut-up piece of paper
and started making a rocket straw thingy.
First I made a small rocket then I made a medium
rocket then the large rocket “that’s when he realized
he flipped up” there was instructions
for the rockets the whole time.
So then I had to test the rockets

(ok small is 1 medium is 2 large is 3 ok
are we all on the same page here ok back
to the story)
first up 1 was up, I had to test them five times
each on the first try it went 3m NEXT was 3.80m
next was 3.80 again next was 3.85 next was 3.60
it’s 2’s time to shine first 2.83 next was + 1m that’s
3.83 next was 3.20 next was 5.30m next was 4.17m
ok its 3’s turn first up 1.95m next was 3.70 next was
3.08m next was 4.20m next was 4.32m.

And for another sidequest, we did some rocket food
for our blog mine looked like a space ship it looked
like this

Kite fun

Kite fun
Guess what time it is blog time.
On Wednesday I started to make a
kite for school… day 1. I went down the
road to get some toetoe sticks
(cutty grass bush) once I got the toetoe
sticks I asked can I have a rubbish bag “Ok”
yeah.

I started to make the base of my kite it looked
like a cross, it was 90 cm long and 60 cm
across. Then I tided rope to the edge of my
kite and then I attached and measured out
the rubbish bag so it would fit around the kite.

The test flight didn’t go well I ran too fast and
the worst thing happen it flipped and it
crash-landed and broke a crossbar came
down NO! It’s ok I repaired it and this time I
sellotape all cracks so no air can fill up my
kite. That was fun

Because of the lack of wind I had to improvise
by getting down a fan a humongous fan and
turn it on to full blast mode. I was doing tricks
it was doing backflips. And I decided to add
another string so it is easier to steer and
control ya!

I enjoyed making the kite I enjoyed writing about
this well ill see you later.

Paper Plane Measurement

Paper Plane Measurement
On Tuesday I started to make my paper plane and my first plane made it 0.3 metres and I only stretched the rubber band  5 cm.  So...

I tested my planes and on the second test it got 3 metres when I stretched the rubber band 10 cm, and so stretched the rubber band to 15 cm and my plane flew  5.5 metres.  Brilliant it worked !!

I took a little break but we are moving on. so I stretched the rubber band to 20 cm that didn't go well. It landed in the wet grass and it got waterlogged (Heavy with water) but… it went 7.9 metres yeah I waited for 10 mins for it to dry out.

Next! 25 cm this one went well it travelled 9.5 metres,30 cm now that went 11.9 metres. So in the end wait, wait, wait you thought that was the end  i’m just getting started.

It turns out that there was a second version (another set of measurements to follow I called it trial 2).  These are the measurements and results for trial 2.
2cm = 0.2
3cm =0.4
4cm =1.2
5cm =1.8
10cm = 2.7
15cm =4.7
I enjoyed this project and
I was suprised how much
fun it was to write about
the two trials.

Am I good at my times tables?

On Monday and Wednesday we do times tables and put them on your grid.
We do the grid so we know how to do harded maths.
What stood out to me was how easy maths is
if you sit with no one that you talk too.
I enjoyed learning new things
in maths. I wonder if I can bet mrs hall in maths times tables.
