Khan’s Hero Engine
I could not help but enjoy… blog time. On
Monday I started to work on my hero engines
for my school work this week, so anyway. Let's
start building my hero engine. I got 3 cans and
started making the hero engine ok let’s go.

for my school work this week, so anyway. Let's

I got 3 cans and 2 nails and 1 hammer. I
hammered 4 small nails into the first can,
the second can I nailed 4 bigger nail into
the can. For the last can, I did the same
with the first can but put the holes up in
the middle of the can here at the cans.

Next, I tied a piece string to the top of each
can and got a big bucket and filled it up with
water. Then I dipped can 1 into the bucket
and it when an around 20 times! I estimated
was 10 my observations: it went slow in the
start then it went fast then slow. Then it was
can 2’s turn I dipped can 2 into the bucket it
went around 14 times I estimated 5 times
my observations: it went slower than last time.

Last up the can 3 I dipped into the bucket
saded it didn’t spin that well it only went
around 5 times I estimated was 6 times my
observations: the waterline was going lower
then the holes.

I enjoyed testing the cans making the cans
thank you for reading my blog I will see you

Thanks Khan! Wow you got it to spin 20 times! That's great. Nice photos too - you labelled your cans well so you didn't get mixed up! I wonder why the one with the holes half way up didn't go round as fast?
ReplyDeleteHi Khan,
ReplyDeleteWhat a great job you did with your Hero engine cans. You have learnt a lot by the placement on the holes in your cans. The result on your first can was amazing, 20 spins. I wonder why the speed changed from slow, to fast, then slow again?
Ka pai Khan! You have done really well with your investigations about Hero cans. What a great idea to label them. I am wondering if you made all your estimates before you started or just before you did each one?
ReplyDeleteWow!thats so cool khan!!! keep up the good work!
